Tired of This Boat Ride.

I have been wanting to blog, but haven’t had the energy. In fact, I have no energy right now. Fumes are typing this entry right now.

I was hit with morning sickness on Aug. 5. Morning sickness that lasts all day and all night.

I can’t explain how bad it feels, but let me try.

  • It feels like I’m on a small boat, in a big ocean, in the middle of a storm. And the waves are bouncing the boat up and down, and up and down, and up and down and…well, you get it.
  • It feels like I drank a gallon of water and then got on a merry go round. Going up and down and round and round and up and down and round and round.

I am so sick.

Nothing seems to help. And I’ve tried EVERYTHING. On top of the constant nausea (no vomiting), I have post nasal drip (yea, that helps the nausea), dizziness, extreme fatigue, dry mouth (dehydrated much?), severe bloating and indigestion, and I’m losing weight. All bad.

I am starving all the time, but only certain things sound good — everything else makes me want to vomit. But I can’t really eat, ’cause if I do, well…I just get sick. There’s no avoiding THE SICK. Eat too little, sick. Eat too much, sick.

I’ve been taking a combination of Unisom and vitamin B6, but it only takes the edge off. Tried coming off of it, and felt like I was dying. Great.

So, mostly I’m in bed all day. Barely able to sit up. Heck, barely able to roll over. Poor me. Poor kids.

So far this pregnancy has been no fun.

Looking forward to the day that I enjoy it.

Where’s My Energy.

Ugh! Where is my energy? Who stole my energy? Sleep is my weakness! Not only that, but anything that requires standing on my feet for more than 52 seconds makes me wanna pass out. When did this start you ask (or maybe you didn’t)? This started today! I’m folding clothes and my legs just feel weak. I need to sit (for an hour). I had only been standing about 1 minute. Run down the stairs to get something….need to sit at the bottom. Run back up the stairs…need to sit at the top. I haven’t done this much lying around in ages.

Today I felt ill. However, I figured out why. My stomach was empty. I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn’t let your stomach get empty or you will start to feel a little sick. Well, I’ve been doing a good job of keeping my tummy full….except for today. Today I didn’t have breakfast…and then a wave of nausea came over me. And by this time you can’t eat because everything smells gross. So, I have to wait it out. I still feel a little sick now…waiting on it to pass so I can stuff my face. Naw! I won’t stuff my face. I’ll be gentle. : )

Pregnant Rambles.

Well, Ray has a cold and I have been avoiding him like the plague! During pregnancy, it is a no-no to take many medications. Especially during the first trimester. I had a cold when I was pregnant with Shan. I was about 6 months along at that time. The doctor told me I could take this cough medicine…but it didn’t do the job. It was supposedly safe for use during pregnancy, but it wasn’t as good Nyquil that’s for sure!

I received my Preggie Pops and have already started using them. I really don’t get too nauseous. Only very slightly, but the pops seems to work great. I am hoping (praying) that I don’t get “full blown” morning sickness. yech!

I have offically started my 4th week of pregnancy (according to my pregnancy journal). Which means the doctor will tell me I am 6 weeks along. Confused? Me too. It is a bit confusing, but let me give my brief explanation. Most likely you become pregnant during ovulation, which happens (usually) 2 weeks (or halfway between) your menstrual cycle. Doctors, however go by the date of the first day of your last menstrual cycle, which usually adds 2 weeks to it. huh? I know. Therefore, you will really only be 38 weeks pregnant, although the doctor will tell you 40 weeks. And just to confuse you more. 40 weeks is really 10 months of pregnancy. So you are pregnant for 9 full months (meaning you complete that last month). Click the links in the paragraph to get a better explantion. Hey…I ain’t no doctor, man! : 0 )
