Tired of This Boat Ride.

I have been wanting to blog, but haven’t had the energy. In fact, I have no energy right now. Fumes are typing this entry right now.

I was hit with morning sickness on Aug. 5. Morning sickness that lasts all day and all night.

I can’t explain how bad it feels, but let me try.

  • It feels like I’m on a small boat, in a big ocean, in the middle of a storm. And the waves are bouncing the boat up and down, and up and down, and up and down and…well, you get it.
  • It feels like I drank a gallon of water and then got on a merry go round. Going up and down and round and round and up and down and round and round.

I am so sick.

Nothing seems to help. And I’ve tried EVERYTHING. On top of the constant nausea (no vomiting), I have post nasal drip (yea, that helps the nausea), dizziness, extreme fatigue, dry mouth (dehydrated much?), severe bloating and indigestion, and I’m losing weight. All bad.

I am starving all the time, but only certain things sound good — everything else makes me want to vomit. But I can’t really eat, ’cause if I do, well…I just get sick. There’s no avoiding THE SICK. Eat too little, sick. Eat too much, sick.

I’ve been taking a combination of Unisom and vitamin B6, but it only takes the edge off. Tried coming off of it, and felt like I was dying. Great.

So, mostly I’m in bed all day. Barely able to sit up. Heck, barely able to roll over. Poor me. Poor kids.

So far this pregnancy has been no fun.

Looking forward to the day that I enjoy it.

Where’s My Energy.

Ugh! Where is my energy? Who stole my energy? Sleep is my weakness! Not only that, but anything that requires standing on my feet for more than 52 seconds makes me wanna pass out. When did this start you ask (or maybe you didn’t)? This started today! I’m folding clothes and my legs just feel weak. I need to sit (for an hour). I had only been standing about 1 minute. Run down the stairs to get something….need to sit at the bottom. Run back up the stairs…need to sit at the top. I haven’t done this much lying around in ages.

Today I felt ill. However, I figured out why. My stomach was empty. I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn’t let your stomach get empty or you will start to feel a little sick. Well, I’ve been doing a good job of keeping my tummy full….except for today. Today I didn’t have breakfast…and then a wave of nausea came over me. And by this time you can’t eat because everything smells gross. So, I have to wait it out. I still feel a little sick now…waiting on it to pass so I can stuff my face. Naw! I won’t stuff my face. I’ll be gentle. : )

Go See the Doctor.

I made my first ob/gyn appointment. I hate the first few appts. I always feel so violated, but by the third or fourth time, you’re usually used to it. Another thing is, after the first ones, the only thing they do (if you aren’t high risk) is take your blood pressure, take a little blood, measure your tummy, weigh you, and ask you some questions. (maybe let you listen to the baby’s heart beat.) These appointments don’t usually last that long. My first appointment is November 1 @ 9:25 am. The first one is always a doozy. You get the blood work, questions, blood pressure, they weigh you, breast exam, pap smear, std testing, and all kinds of other scraping and prodding that I will never get used to *shudders*. You are usually there for a while. I remember being there for 3 hours one time.

I also called my cardiologist. And for those that don’t know, I have SVT. SVT is a general term describing any rapid heart rate originating above the ventricles, or lower chambers of the heart. SVT is an arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm. I developed this after the birth of Shaelyn. My heart is pretty regular most of the time, but maybe once or twice a year it will beat fast for no reason. I can just be sleeping or sitting. It will probably come down on it’s own, but I take medication to make the heart beat come down faster. I don’t think it has ever gone over 150 beats per minute, although some people with SVT have calculated their hearts beating 250 beats per minute! I have a mild form. I wanted to ask the cardiologist if I have an “episode”, is it okay to take the medication that I have on hand while I am pregnant. So, I am waiting for him to call.

The taste in my mouth has started slightly. Just slightly. I get this awful taste and bleeding gums. So far it’s not really bad, but I know it can get to the point where it last all day. *gross* I’m still praying that I don’t get morning sickness this time. : )
